Lens Baby Alleyby jackal9Comment by bob350: When we glance at the hidden, unattractive back alleys and electric meters, out attention usually highlights just a couple of key aspects while the rest could just as easily be blurred and unnoticed. The lens baby effect imitates this well, which I appreciate somewhat to my surprise (I like many kinds of blur, but usually don't like the lens baby results). |

Lens Baby Alleyby jackal9Comment by Monique64: Ohhh, this makes me sick to look at it. I dont mind the shot but I think it is not level. How did you do this effect in basic? |

The Dark Sideby jackal9Comment by Melethia: I think you got pretty close to what you were trying to do! My one suggestion would be to wear a shirt that does show up just a bit, to prevent the "floating head" syndrome. And perhaps just a wee bit more light on the lit side, with a reflector on the unlit side to give a hit of shape to that side of the face. Or not. :-) |

Good to see you back in the challenges, although I have to confess that I did not recognise you...Time has obviously ravaged your once youthful countenance ;-)
I really like the light set up for this shot, I am a big fan of half face portraits although I always have to cheat and use the edge of the frame to achieve this. Really like the blackness of the black, and the sharpness of the shot
Hope all is well with you |
