I wouldn`t have thought to take a pic of weathered wood with snow covered mountains in the background. I have only seen snow on mountains once in my life on a trip to Wales.
Anyway good sharp photo, certainly meets the challenge. 8

My Opinion-I like this shot, but not the crop. I think the view needed to be a bit wider, it feels squished to me. [?] Maybe it's just that I don't see the full ends of the propeller.
You mention that your camera is limited in adjustments. That may be so but I think you did a super job. The plane is in focus the colors are very good and the light is good. Camera or not you know what your doing. Good work.
