Why don't we see his face? As such, I can't tell what he's doing, and I can't really even tell it's a boy. Without the title or challenge, I'd have guessed that this was a man.

Looks like straw bale construction with "blood lath" for plaster :D
The picture seems out of focus or not very sharp.

Nice, I love the background bokeh and how it's done here. Wish the entire thing was a bit sharper. The crop is great, though I think it's a little tight on the bottom-left. Good job, keep it up!

That is quite the odd looking building. Photo wise nothing seems to in focus. I find myself searching it for something sharp but failing.

This is a great shot! I do think it fits the theme perfectly (wish I would have thought about it). I do agree with the noise, though. If you use Photoshop/Elements, you can get plug ins that REALLY help with noise a lot. I just got one a few months ago and it's made a huge improvement to all of my pictures.

interesting perspective/composition- cant really see what is going on with the subject tho his body-language is indicating he is pulling something out of or dropping something into the water? i wish i could see better what he is doing perhaps a different angle? or a rule of 3rds crop might help? my eye keeps going to the blury stick to the right - behind his head... then to his plaid underwear sticking out of his jeans - yep boys will be boys...

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Nice entry for this challenge and it looks like the CW tag is working, you got a lot of helpful comments during voting.

The very first thing I noticed is that is face is covered. At least his mouth is showing but if his entire face was visible the picture would have much more emotion and connect to everyone who has been in a situation like this.

I like the mountains in the back. I realize it probably wasn't possible but would have liked the background to be less cluttered, the houses, basketball court and some of the ramps. As someone else suggested a lower angle would help to isolate your subject.

If you have any questions click here to message me!
