Nice long exposure. Next time consider larger size - you can go up to 640 pixels on longest side - as small photos tend not to do as well here.

Putting that to one side, canal locks have huge photographic potential. This one might have benefited from any or all of:
- being taken at a lower angle;
- using a much slower shutter speed (if you could find some way of stabilising your camera), to create a "mystic" effect from the water;
- tweaking up the saturation and contrast to bring a darker, older, more gloomy feel (locks are usually old, dark and gloomy places...)
