What a pretty cat you have! I love it. My cat Tony looks exactly like your cat :) The picture is very intensely focused on the eyes, because they are so big and bright. Personally I like that, and I can see the pale yellowy colour you were aiming for with this picture. Unfortunately, it doesn't coincide with what most people would consider a colourful picture. Personally, I would look and try to find what you wanted to do with the photo, and vote that way. Moving on from that point, let's see what you could do better with your picture, ok?
I like the focus. it's clear and you can see all the hairs nicely, the DOF is fairly shallow which is ok; you got the parts you were aiming for :) The lighting is uneven, which doesn't help you, it brings different highlights, and also makes some bits of the picture over exposed, and some other parts of the picture under exposed. For instance the right eye is completely over exposed, and the black on top of the head is under exposed, and you can't see the details properly in either.
I think the other you need to aim for is to make the picture the maximum size allowed here. that will automatically raise the votes you get by a point or so.
I see a lot of potential,and hope you will enter more challenges :) good luck!
