I gave this a 6 during voting and I really liked the strong diagonal composition. A little more seperation from the background and a little more contrast in the hair (as figaro mentioned) and I would have voted higher. It is really shocking how high the standards are with wildlife photography here at DPC...5.2 certainly isn't a reflection of the quality of this shot.

At first I wondered whether the goat was really in focus - I think it is but it really needs to pop out at us a little bit more (some USM would do the trick if applied well) and the image is a little bit lacking in contrast. It would make a terrific B&W I reckon (in fact, if you'd like me to have a play then do send me over a larger version though I can't claim to be an expert!). You've captured real energy here and the bokeh is nice too :)

I really like the subject, composition and colors. I think a Levels adjustment would improve the image, more contrast would help too. There is an USM action called Luko Sharpening that I think would add depth and vitality to the shot. That might also help the focus that seems to have fallen a little short. The rocks in front of the goat seem sharper than the goat itself. If you want the details of Luko sharpening, send me a PM.

I think with a bit more work in Photoshop, you will have an impressive photo.

Framing, subject and action all good. Unfortunately the leaping forelegs are not very well defined against the albeit nicely rendered background which in these crucial areas is too busy. Magnificent beast.

I like how you framed this, the position of the goat on the diagonal gives the eye some direction, and gives it a bit of energy. The overall light does seem a bit dull, though - some levels adjustment might brighten things up a bit?
