Spring Warmthby kleskiComment by Horsea: I like this picture except the grainyness makes it worse than it could be if there wasn't alot of noise. |

Beauty in Branchesby kleskiComment by see: The building on the right seems to be a bit off of plumb, I think it needs to be tweaked to the left a bit. I also believe that color would work better with this composition. |

Riverfront Parkby kleskiComment by one2one: The exposure is just way off. The highlights lose detail and the shadows too. Colours seem off too. |

Spring Warmthby kleskiComment by tpbremer: nice yellow burst agains a grey background. hopefully you found this naturally and don't get dq'd for selective desaturation |

The Golden Age of Rosesby kleskiComment by JMart: I really liked this one and I ended up giving it a 6. My favorite part about it is the composition along with an interesting subject. On the down side, the sky has some posterization and it feels a little flat to me. I wonder if this would pop a little better with the saturation pushed up along with a slight lightness increase and a light to medium contrast curve. I think the average quick-click (or key-stroke) voter may be more negatively impacted by too little than too much in areas like that.
Of course, this is all just my humble opinion. You really did take a nice photo here. |

The Golden Age of Rosesby kleskiComment by Melethia: This is a good entry for the challenge, I think. You have a good strong diagonal composition, and a subject that makes the viewer pause for a minute to figure it out. Good choice of aperture to get a deep depth of field. And yes the focus is very good. As for why it didn't score higher? Hmmm... the only thing I can think of is the "midday" part - I wonder if a shot later in the day with the sun at a lower angle would be a bit less harsh on the gold and allow more of the texture and structure of the roses to show through. |

Gulls in Flightby kleskiComment by The_Dentist: I think some separation between the subject and the bird in the background would have helped. Bokeh does it somewhat, but is still makes the center a bit too busy. |

Spring Warmthby kleskiComment by bobnospum: A color challenge with a B&W section. Not a bad idea as it makes the yellows pop out but.. not sure it adds or detracts from it overall. |
