frozen pondby VeioletsComment by RedDotCom: I like the lines within the image. Personally, I would boost the contrast just a tad. Interesting image - thanks for sharing! |

frozen pondby VeioletsComment by jdannels: this is great I love how there are two stories, vertical and diagonal. I may tried to add a little contrast with an S curve adjustment, but maybe not. With the light breaking from the side like that it really gives everything a nice texture. |

frozen pondby VeioletsComment by Bruce_the_Robert: Wonderful. Such detail and texture. I wonder as did others about a bump in contrast, but I too like high contrast. In this case, though, I wonder if some burning and dodging might be better than a straight contrast boost. That's because I love the reeds the way they are, and if you bump the contrast, they'll change, too. So, maybe some dodging on the snow to make it brighter and more white (while controlling it so as to not blow it out, something you've avoided well in the initial shot)? I do like it as is, though . . . |

Your photo reminds me of colour, how natural colour is, what a useful tool it is. Absence is a tool too. Causation, the sun, the reeds, therefore the angled shadows, and the necessity of each is what I learn from your photo. |

frozen pondby VeioletsComment by Ecce_Signum: Impressive control over the exposure, we don't get much snow here which is just as well cos I struggle with it. Good job on making a 'boring' subject gain interest and thanks for the story behind the shot - helps the viewer a lot. |

frozen pondby VeioletsComment by Ken: I like the lines here, and that's what makes the picture. I think lightening up the snow would add a bit of contrast. |

frozen pondby VeioletsComment by bassbone: excellent control of exposure on the snow/ ice - i can almost count the individual crystals... the shadows really provide a great break to the snow |
