You will see from my photos tho that I like heavier contrasts and I wonder how it would look with a little more contrast? For a photo, my preference is to see the shadows stand out from the background a little more. |

The black and white processing gives it just the perfect drama and contrast. Great job!! I look forward to seeing more of your stuff :)

frozen pondby VeioletsComment by hajeka: Great to look at. Soft shadows on the beautiful snow (or ice) and the strong lines and dark tones in the foreground. Would do very good in a "Zen" challenge, I think. Not sure about the border, perhaps less gray (or none). |

frozen pondby VeioletsComment by Melethia: I do like the idea you're going for here and I think this works pretty well. To bring out more of the "hidden subject" idea, leave out even more of the objects casting the shadows. Your exposure is very good to get the detail on the reeds and not blow out the snow. |
