Quite an emotive shot here. I imagine a wide range of comments & opinions are showing up on this one. Subject-wise it fits the challenge just fine for me. Photographically, the DOF works and it's well focused. The bg seam is a distraction that may have been eliminated with a seamless bg or a slight adjustment using curves. Nonetheless, good luck in the challenge.

very dramatic image - you will likely get a great deal of harsh opinions for your choice of theme - but I will not be in that group - I think it is an excellent shot and fits the theme very well.

I think all you would have needed to make this any better would be to smooth out the BG so you can't see the line and add some blood to the stake.

I understand your message here; however, the picture implies sacrifice and pain to me rather than Heaven. The Ascension, in my opinion, would have made a better subject than the crucifixion.

interesting interpretation. on a purely technical note, i think i would have preferred this in black and white; the colours are a little distracting from the forms.
