colors of autumn by laurie241Comment by outland: You have found the obvious solution to the question of how much background to include with the back lit flower. It is almost an example of composition do's.
Leading lines. Rule-of-thirds. Not to mention the exposure and sharpness. 10. |

peace & quietby laurie241Comment by Melethia: I like your choice of bench - and I like the tree beyond (hence the angle you chose). Kinda wish you hadn't cut off the far end - leave that little bit of curved metal in there. I don't hate the desat, but almost think I'd prefer straight B&W. |

V-nus flytrapby laurie241Comment by PHOTOKID: I loved the grate control on the DOF(pun intended. I really thought the bokeh was strong in the image toward the background in keeping the interest forward into the detailed area. The Detail in the sharp area was nicely lit and had a good amount of detail to it. The silver/gold color combination was really eye catching for me and provided interest throughout the photo. I really liked the diagonals and patterns created by the teeth on the cheese grater, along with the angle in which this was shot, it gave the photo a good amount of Depth to it as well. |
