An appealing image that does meet the challenge

A pleasing scene in which I think you have an essence of quietness but also a sense of tension waiting for that juggernaut to come rumbling around the bend and ruin the peace. The silver birch trees are very attractive and the leaves are a very pleasant autumnal pastel topping together with the lovely bendy road a pleasing composition. It is all quite pleasant and works to a degree. Thanks for your submission Russell.

I really like the perspective here, especially since you can see up river so well. I do hope you posted the color version in the photo comments, because I think I may have liked that version a bit better.
