Thanks to all that commented. I did introduce the grain in pp and I cooked the contrast, to excess in hindsight. In shooting this one I did have a good time, and after seeing some of the other submitted shots, I am mostly pleased with how well it turned out. I did however completely miss out on the "abstract" aspect. There is always next time. I will try to post the original, before processing, when I get time...I'd like to see how it holds up to critique, too!

I know it's not easy getting a drop shot. If you have a p/s cam I'd recommend using the popup flash. It can work, I've tried it. Keep shooting :)

This is a great picture.. dont get me wrong. It just lacks originality for me. I am tired of seeing close ups of fluids mixing and dropping. I chopped off marks for these reasons:


- lack of abstraction. What are you abstracting here (taking away form the picture in terms of struture)? I can easily see it is a kind of fluid... in action.

- tecnically, the image looks noisy. I dont know if this is due to post processing, or poor lighting or sensor.

- droplets again! Lack of originality.

I am still rating this one above average because of the composition.
