Nice out of the box thinking and highly original, however the drab sepia tone and the fact that I had to actually THINK (gasp!) about it, does not overcome my expectation to see pretty shiny explosions... I can't really mark it "Down" because it is Technically fine, and well within the challenge topic, but it has no "WOW" aspect to it either, so I will leave it at five. Please continue with out of the box style entries though, I usually like them!

I Really love the shape and colors of the fireworks. I wonder if adjusting the shadows could have darkened the background and hidden the smoke clouds.
Also, I think I would have prefered to have the cityscape cropped out to give total attention to firework. A well done photo though, even as is.

A great idea with excellent use of negative space, but I feel it would have looked better with the DOF geared towards the front ( The shell ) and fading back....

This is a clear and concise shot, good colors, decent focus and nice subject.
It is the border that adds snap and draws your eyes towards the actual photo.
I have a difficult time with this as I feel like I am supposed to enter a score based on photo, rather than border. Well done and good luck.
