The border really isn't doing it for me. Would love to see this without a border and straight.

This would have been a good shot if not for the border. Too much going on.

I would love if you could set up a tutorial on how you did this. I just think this photo is fantastic and would love to learn how to do some really nice HDR

I love this mono! I'm not sure how much I like the tree though...it does have a halo effect around it and that's one reason but I think it would be much cleaner and better without the tree? Anyways, my thoughts...brilliant photo and congrats on the Red and PB!

Since a lot of people think you broke the rules in this contest with this photo...not being "posthumous"...didn't you actually go right along with the idea? referring to Member freakin_hilarious and others. I didn't vote but I love this photo.

Asking payment for photographs is fairly common in developing countries. I can't speak for Africa, but throughout Latin America and even in parts of the United States, people whose way of life makes them popular subjects for photographers ask for a small donation in return for having their pictures taken. I think they assume - in most cases correctly - that western tourists are far more well off than they are, and they should expect some compensation from those who wish to take their pictures.
That said, it's a great picture, brilliant colors and a good sense of the surroundings.

Yes that is quite right and for the comment that it would have been better from the front, I totally agree and believe me I tried lol but they all wanted some money or wanted to pose or just said no. My plan is to print it out and give it to her. They make about 2-3 dollars per day here so yes I would say most tourists do have more money than they do. But thanks you so much for all your comments, wish I could have gotten a bit more, but thanks!
