I like this shot.. The color of course draws me, but the void of "what am I walking down and into" is great. I might have used just a tad larger DOF, but good picture.

While I'm no means a professional or 'good' photography, I agree with what nshapiro wrote. I noticed that you could not see the dog's left ear very well, making note that the right side was a little dark. Also noticable was the contrast on the dogs nose (I think I'm stating this properly). I would have not noticed the lines in the background, but that just shows that more than one person critique'ing is a good thing.
