i'd be surprised if there wasn't a better angle to take this picture from. i just find myself wanting more really. ones attention is equally split between the wheels, the bendy pipework and the flowers in the foreground. it feels cluttered and there's nothing to focus on. portrait orientation seems a bit of a strange choice too... if it wasn't possibly to fit the whole locomotive in, possibly try to focus on just one aspect. the way i'm typing this, with the screen half scrolled down, i can now only see the wheels and flowers. if it were cropped in this manner (bottom 2/5ths say, and landscaped) and made larger then i think in my mind, it might feel more, erm, composed?

weird, i live in the next town to belvedere... i really love this shot - the colours are particularly nice, in a pastel florida kind of way, really. the only thing i'm not in love with is the slightly open filler cap, but that aside, it's perfect. the profile of the wing is super, the fact that there is only sky in the background suggests this is a well thought out / considered / planned shot... a definite favourite - 10.

oooh, nice heat haze! i like this; the black fighter (F15?) looks very menacing. it's slightly lessened by the blue van in the background, but i think it is improved by the small, red light on the wing... angle of view is spot on in my book. i might have cropped at the tip of the tail fins (thereby losing the whiter gable roof of the hanger), and maybe reduce the brightness a tiny bit, but they're minor things onan otherwise quality shot. 8.

No choice. Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated.

wow - good humour AND an excellent photo. ignoring the high chuckle factor for a moment, i find myself deeply impressed with the image. the sky has been darkened (i assume) quite spectacularly. the blue of the cladding and the whiteness of the lettering also visually appeasing. together sky and building should clash, but they don't. being picky, i might have spent a few minutes cloning out the cracked panel above the "o", and i might have selected the white areas to make a bit whiter (they have a slight shade of green in areas). but those are stupid annoying comments, so 10 it is.

Crossfire Abstract

In my book this is certainly abstract. I like the geometric shapes and the crop is great. the way you've only got black, white and silver in the shot is very nice, as is the fact you can't see the edge of the tyres under the arch. never said this before, but i think a slightly thicker border might actually be beneficial here! very very good. 9.

excellent job - the car is perfect; it's bright, sharp, clear, totally impressive. it's in amongst slightly too much background maybe, but that aside, unfaultable. it's interesting (even though i would personally prefer alonso, who's my favourite) nad and gives a real sense of speed. the best moving car shot here. 10.

If you cloned out the pole, i think it would be more impressive. though then of course it would look like it's about to crash into some electric cables, so they'd have to go as well. big labourious job that would be. the reflection in the cars bonnet or roof IS a nice touch, and gives it a degree of originality. lastly, i think it's a little too dark for my tastes, but that's just me.

Main Street Bridge Train

well, that's a sexy looking train... or is it a tram? same thing i guess. been searching my brain for remembering where this is - i know that brown building on the right... anyway, it's a pleasant picture, though the traim has been cropped a little bit close to the right for my liking. the skyline and the sky is a nice touch, and compliments well, although perhaps selecting and reducing the brightness of the sky a shade might be slightly more fitting? final note is that i might have tried taking the shot ten feet down the road; the junction of wires at the cross-roads is a bit too cluttered...

though not exactly knowledgeable as far as american politics are concerned, i know about the (weird crazy bizarre) selection of animal mascots each party has (do you know how they original came about) and the manner in which you've presented them is excellent. This is current, relevant and unlike most photos with the stars and stripes, totally not about trumpet-led pride and similar sentiment. in fact, it's quite restrained and i love and respect you for that. it fits the challenge, is very well taken (no tips for improvement from me). the only time i've given a flag-orientated piccy a ten. i only hope that Martin Sheen gets in for a second term...

nice discreet example of selected desat. for me, it's not all that exciting, but it's certainly a well-crafted shot and it's quite peaceful and soothing. the tones are wonderful, as is the lighting. it's a shame nothing else was red (liek the horizontal stripe, for example). it's a beautful aircraft, so subject choice is good. might have cropped a little off the bottom - the complexity of the top bit of undercarriage detracts slightly from the rest of the plane. that said, it's a very likeable shot. 8.
