I gave two 10s in this challenge, and this is one of them. This is a perfect example of a perfect shot - the timing of your captured is absolutely superb - one can only imagine how many attempts it took to get it (so go you for a display of commitment). The monotone / blue appearance is also different but works well. this truly is a fabulous picture, definitely a ribbon contender, and well done!

I have given this a 9. This is the thing abstract should be, and i'm quite envious that you have a good eye for colour and shapes. The red is beautiful - so very bold. I only didn't give it full marks because i found the white border to the purple and yellow sheets of paper a bit distracting - it's not nearly as apparent on the left between the blue and the turquoise, though. Composition is great.

It's very pretty. The cropping looks a little bit out, gigving the impression that it's tightly squeezed in the corner and doesn't feel that natural. i think it would look less out if either you a) zoomed out and pulled the thing towards the centre a bit (but increasing the quantity of black to the right and bottom, or b) zoomed in a bit and have the top and the left of the orange thing outside the boundary of the image. Actually, the item in question is so lovely, it could have filled the image - have you tried a macro shot of it, in the way you have it illuminated? Lighting BTW, is brilliant. Is it an ashtray with a light source underneath it? very nice. 7.

This is one of the creepiest shots i've ever seen on this site. is it really a dead evil fish about to attack your lens, or is it a trick my eyes are playing? There really does seem to be a lot going on here - i especially like the reds and greens reflected (?) in the water... and the bubbles give some intensity with what's going on. I have no idea WHAT is going on, but it certainly is going on with ghusto. I'm a bit too disturbed and grossed out to give you a very high score, but it's a good picture all the same.

I really don't find myself responding to this image - the abstractiveness is a little bit too excessive really. The very high levels of noise, especially on a monochromatic image, doesn't work particularly well, or at least from my point of view. I see lines, but shapes and colours are non-existent. It would guess that the noise levels etc were done intentionally, and for the a salute you and your bravery. I just don't think it paid off. sorry.

thanks - i think *i* liked it too, but the poxy thing did badly getting to 15th from last. should have cropped out the garish pink and stuck with the brick and the door... Oh hum, just another of a string of poor results. But thanks again for the post vote comment.

I think it's a chevrolet (badge is a givaway), though i couldn't say what part... This is a very lovely image, that is certain. I wish my monitor was of widescreen proportions, becuase i really like the way this has been cropped. And the colours are wonderful (beautiful blue goes with the chrome very well), and the metal looks almost liquid. depth of field is spot on, and it's not too sharp which also suits the subject matter. excellent work. 10

oooh, pretty! i'm completely in two minds about the twinkly white lights though - and one wonders if that was what prompted the validation request because they look too perfect! I imagine we're looking at well placed punched holes and some very skillful photography. The choice of red and blue lighting is also inspired. This is a great piece of art, and deserves to do very well. 9.

With a bit of fancy (legal?) editting at the front end by making the prop blurry, you could have made it look dead impressive. As it is - it still took a double take to realise you weren't hanging on the back midflight about to let go and plummet to a messy end. Is it abstract - not sure in real terms, but not really in accordance with the challenge description. but it's sharp, full of lovely colours, is taken from an original angle which i do like, and is a pleasing image. I might be wrong, but i don't think it's really abstract enough - so i can only feel happy giving a 7.

It looks too much like a flag to be an abstract! i know it's NOT a flag, but it looks too much like what it isn't to not be, from my point of view. It's a very modernist piece of art, which i'm sure galleries would love. But is it really photography? I mean, the only real slight flaw is loss of pure white in the top right. Paradoxically, for some thing so simple and comprising of only two colours, this is the hardest image one to vote on this week. Is it too abstract? For art, 8. For a photo - 2.5. That's an average of, oh, about 4.5. 5 it is. dang it, 6, coz i DO like it.
