Comment:
This is a good composition. my only concern is that the lighting on the needle is too much, giving a blown out feeling.

Everything else is crisp and sharp.

Good bit of fun, but not to hot the poverty theme.

As a photograph I feel that the planks square on give a very static feeling, which could have been significantly improved if the wall were shot at an angle. Maybee a side and the front.

This image is too central and small for me.
you are alowed upto 640pixels wide. As a rule photographs which are clopser to this size tend to de better.
If you have a larger image, you will then be able to move the boot off centre and utilise the rule of thirds.

College Man's Poverty

I dreamed of having this much food in my fridge when I was a student. It is encouraging to see that you have already drunk all the alcohol.

Everthing is to central in this picture. I would prefer to see some of the contents to be moved either left or right. Remember the rule of thirds..
Modest, but bursting with color!

Modest, but bursting with color!
by Jean

Comment:
It is certainly bursting with colour, but the modesty is not portrayed very strongly, so as a result the poverty association is lost.

As a pure photograph, the v ivid colours are warm and inviting, however the cemtral positioning of the window, gives a static impression. I would prefer to see the window croped on either the left or right hand side.

Paupers Bath

Comment:
As a straight photograph, I feel that this image would would offer more compositional strength if the bath were more to the left. As a submission for a poverty chalenge, this misses the mark for me. I get more of an impression of a scrap yard or dumping ground.

The focus is sharp and the tonal colouring is excellent.
The composition however, does not work for me as I feel that the central tree breaks up the image.

Great composition here, the only thing that stops this from being a top photo, is it doesn't speak povert as well as some of the others. However I love it as a photograph.

Poverty

Comment:
Starved of water and nutrients, is the basic message here. I would have chosen a different title to âpovertyâ, as I feel this looses some of the impact.

However the image is spot on for me.
