Rejected Patent #1748/09: Convenience Spaghetti Twisterby h2Comment: Great invention! where can I get one? Also great photo, all the classic design tricks - rule of thirds, leading lines, focal plane to determine area of interest. So techinically perfect + design perfect + humor = perfect score |

Lemon grass crusted salmon with Macadamia nut pesto linguineby CuttoothComment: I'm sure it tastes better than it looks. Reasons for a lowish score: white balance seems off, composition could be better though I do like the past mountain in the foreground and the salmon island behind. I'm not sure where you want my focus to land. In a composition like this where my eye is led to the pasta, then the salmon, then right off the page, most people won't come back for a closer looks and will simply click "next" when their interest is lead out of the frame. Try to lead me in next time. |

one small stepby foklepointComment: remind me not to loan you my lens. This picture is really startling. I captures the vertigo feeling of height and the lure of the fall in a way that makes it uncomfortable even to look at. I guess the moving cars, the curves, and the directional arrows contribute to the sense of spin and dizziness. |

Sempervivumby geneward2Comment: This is a perfectly nice picture of a lovely flower, I wonder why it scored so low? One thought: what if you had reversed the photo so the flowers face right. A lot of people prefer that orientation without even being aware of it. In the west we are programmed to read a page and an image, also, left to right. Right to left is against the norm and slightly jarring. Just a thought - |
