Trailer Park Lifeby CuttoothComment: This reminds me of Joey Lawrence's first entry here, and on a number of levels let alone subject matter: it's raw and real and straight to the point.
And you've taught me something - I didn't know about Miller's Punch Top Can, now I feel back in the beer-loop.
Hopefully you didn't waste the prop!

Perfectly Ordinary Dayby instepsComment: I really enjoy this photo - I see me in 25 years, sitting with my love. We come here nearly everyday, sit and feed the birds, watch the ducks, watch the people. We talk. We are happy.
Then that punk parked her bike right in front of us. I shout, "Get off my lawn." She counters with "Suck it, old man!"
Then it hits me that I am an old man and I forgot that I rode the bike. I apologize to the girl and she responds with a digital salute.
Yes - I can relate to this photo.

Freedom's Longingby jagarComment: By all variations and definitions of the word "superb" this photo meets or exceeds them all. All I can say is "What a photo, wow!" |

I'm coming back for another look - I really like this photo, it eases my soul to see the skies and the buttes competing for majesty with this small human-made structure standing guard. It is humbling. |

end of dayby flahermaComment: I start at the bottom of this photo and get lost in the reflections of the clouds. I look for patterns and find crabs and butterflies and Florida and hand puppets. Then I slowly follow some of the water streams out to sea.
Then the I'm drawn farther into the image and wonder what the disturbance is in the flow. Are those fish? A log? A crocodile? A body?
Then I follow the water out to sea. And then up the shore, to the people. Are they as relaxed as they should be? Is the air still warm, or are they getting the early evening chill? The gentle surf sounds send the cares away.
What about the houses? Is someone looking out a window, calling to someone to come in? Are they calling to the body? Are they worried? It's not a body though.
Finally the light of the city - is it a bustling city or a quiet small town? Probably a larger city, given the large structure next to the water.
The people in the foreground are lucky to be away from the city sounds - surrounded by the serenity of the sea.
I want to be here. |
