The heaven Lightby StructorComment: I have to admit that I did a mistake, I didn't read the challenge details well enough, the photo obviously doesn't meet the challenge. |

Cold Mountainby StructorComment: The reason why my photo “Cold mountain” was disqualified is that I removed two small spots (I am told because of dust on the sensor) from the image. These spots have been a problem on my photos lately, but removing them does not change the photos a bit, so I thought I was not doing anything wrong by doing so in this case. It was not my intention to cheat or do something that is not permitted.
It is of course necessary to have rules in competitions like here on DPC, but it is my opinion that rules that disqualify photos on these grounds are not about good photography, but rather a stupid reason to get rid of good photos.
In all my challenges I have tried to do my best to follow the rules and also in this challenge, so I am not reconciled to this conclusion. In fact it did not cross my mind that I was doing something wrong by taking out these two little spots and was very surprised when the photo was disqualified.
Because of this experience I have had and probably many others I would suggest that these rules were changed. It would be nice to have some discussions about this matter.
