A crop off the right and some off the top would have made this a 10. Giving it a 9, one of my faves so far.

IMO, her face looks too unatural.....way to smooth.

Natural light portrait??? I really like the expression you captured on this little guys face. The lighting is very pleasing. Seems like it could be a tad sharper. A little more off the top may be more pleasing, but who knows :) 7.5 but I'll give ya an 8 LOL

I like her makeup and the background works well for the mood you are trying to convey. Her position seems a bit akward and posed. A reflector may have helped lessen the dark shadow under her chin. 6

Harsh shadows are something you really want to avoid with studio photography.

Love the lighting here. I like how it looks like that is a globe in the background. Not sure if it is or not! 8

ADORABLE portrait. Lighting could be a tad better as there is the shadow from the son's head on dad's face. So cute :) 8

I don't think this is overdone at all. The first word that came to mind was surreal and then I read your description and that is what you were after. The only distracting element, IMO, is the bottom part of the gazebo is hidden by the foreground. I would have given this a 9 :)
