Sea Gypsiesby flip89Comment: Greetings from the Critique Club!!
My first impression is very positive. I love this image for a few reasons.
I like that it is a beautiful silhouette, and yet at the same time I find it almost photo journalistic. The image is clearing telling us a story, it is obvious to the veiwer that it is a family of sorts on the boat, and a large city in the background.
Technically a great job. The rule of thirds is textbook here, and commands our attention. It is beautifully balanced. The tone is lovely, especially , for me in the background. And the DOF is perfect
The only problem I have with this shot is the colour of the water. It may be just a matter of personal taste, here. But for me there is something that just isn't quite magnificent enough to match the rest of the image.
A gorgeous shot, congratulations |

Sweets For My Sweetby idnicComment: Just my 2 cents from doing a million dessert plates, etc.. I would always use odd numbers, 3 chocolates, or 5 rather then the 4. The sauce on the plate is distracting, Freehand piping of straight lines is tough. And we do not usually serve these kind of chocolates or petit fours with a sauce, it looks a little odd...A strawberry tart on that plate would kick butt :)
Sorry I can't resist a food critique :) If I can ever been of any help, feel free to pm me |

The "Drank Too Much" Blues. (photojournalism)by nsbca7Comment: I am giving you a great big ole 9( I dont give 10's no one is perfect!), because I LOVE photojournalism and it just never seems to do well against all the contrived studio shots here..
And it is a great shot, tells a story, nice DOF and compostition, and enough blue, literally and figuratively to fit the challenge. |
