despite the sharpening, the very upper part of the sky is nice(about 50px from the top down)... the rest of your photograph is completely out of focus.
High Altitude Intersection
I fail to see any intersection in the sky as I also fail to see any intersection on the signs. I assume you were focusing on the signs where is very hard to read with that focus⦠as commented already!⦠Millions of thanks, for the millions of pixels missing - to you for describing what you saw and for the mother nature dear louddog; She MADE that photo... for you to capture beyond your comprehension of photography.

Do you realize the ⦠whatever you assume is the best photography in the world⦠licks and falls to the very right of yours? NO? â
âWe were side by side shooting at the same track from the same distance in the same lighting, shooting the same thing and got practically the same score.
(Note: I know the advantages of having a DSLR and better equipment. This example is only pointing out that you do not need to have a DSLR and fancy equipment to compete here.)â
You must consider yourself ridicules comparing your camera with a 5 times better camera then yours; and for the way you take you pictures⦠that camera, for a beginner would make him a pro! Right! The same camera would not help you!
The Race
Based on the above observations, I cannot consider that you would be ever so close to such an excellent shoot.
