you're looking at the bottom of each staircase since you're looking from the bottom up, as they climb around the perimeter all the way to the top and at the top they cross.

Thank you all for the kind and helpful comments! I was very lucky to find that car while on my drive around the east coast. I didnt plan on entering the challenge, but it called out to me, I'm obsolete! :-)

I took a few shots where I moved the foreground weeds out of the way, but then noticed that I liked the photos with the weeds much better, added to the obsolete feel of it, as if it has been engulfed by nature....
