Pink & Blueby view360Comment: Good photo with nice composition, but not focused enough on the pattern for my tastes; more of a portrait with a pattern on a bag. Nice use of narrow depth of field to focus the portrait, though. |

It's Christmas Againby kelvinyamComment: Nice close up, with added effect from the extremely limited depth of field. I actually would have liked either a bit more depth because of the next decoration (which seems strangely out of focus given its proximity). This might have come off better to me (and this is all personal preference, not "objective" critique) if it had been cropped a bit more on the left; the extremely out of focus bits on the left are distracting for me. Still, nice shot overall. |

Alternating Spheresby KatmystiryComment: Nice shot, well executed and well presented. I can only make picky comments, like that the second ball from the left on the bottom has a red mark that bugs me, and the double sparkle does a bit, too (really picky, I know!!). A really nice image, well done. |

Blue Shapesby sfaliceComment: I like the composition here, the adjacent buildings fit together nicely. The coloring in the photo, though, seems a bit off to me, whether it's over-saturated or something similar, I'm not sure. It looks very processed to me (there is a hint of yellow, for example, on the lower horizontal stripe on the left building, and I don't think it's belongs there). A pretty nice shot, though, on the whole. |

Metal Sculptureby geneward2Comment: Really neat photo, excellent use of light and contrast, and focusing depth of field on the center spring (is it a slinky?) works really well. Nicely done. |

Walkingby Rino63Comment: Really neat shot, I like the incorporation of the person here (I might have waited until they were gone, but it would have looked very different, and I think I like this better). The person also helps with the really bright/over-exposed light coming in from the end, though the darkness of the person almost empasizes that overexposure. I don't have a clue what I would done to the photo to 'fix' that, though, but it does bother me some. |

Yeah Man!by chelsearocksComment: Nice shot, good pattern and one of the better uses of color I've seen in this challenge (though honestly I'm not that far into it yet). As for composition, I think I would have liked to have seen the model's eyes; the hat being down over them seems a bit forced. Otherwise I like the shot. |

artificial light widthrawalby rjlacsonComment: I noticed this image immediately on the thumbnails page. Very catchy, well done, good use of lighting, nice choice of model and props. I like it (can you tell?). I might have (just might have, I'd have to see it done) liked a bit more depth of field on the light, to bring some of it into clear focus where it meets the model's face. Also, the extra white dot in the sunglasses is distracting. I know I'm being picky, but with shots like this one, that's all that's left to do. |

"Granite Circles"by ThaiComment: Interesting pattern, well photographed, but I would have liked to have seen either an intentional "skewing" of the lines toward a diagonal, or a more precise shot that aligned the pattern in a perfectly straight way. The slight leftward shift as you move down the image is perceptable here, and doesn't look to me to have been intended. |

You eat it Dr. Mandelbrot ...by thegrandwazooComment: Really nice image, both technically and in terms of subject matter. Good use of focus (I'm not sure I could have avoided the temptation to use a more limited depth of field here, but I'm really glad you didn't). The stark background makes it; anything distracting it the background would have really hurt the image, I think. |
