A Splash of Color by RackatComment: Wow, this is really cool. Everytime I tell someone to look at this, I end up coming back to look some more. It's so fascinating to just stare at.. It's really enjoyable to stare at for a long time. But one thing has me confused.. Shutter 1/40?
How do you get such a clear picture with such a low shutter speed? Come to think of it, everybody seems to be able to do that but me. That water must've been splashing awfully sowly to get such a clear shot of the splash. Whatever the case, I'm impressed. Definitely a favourite. |

St. Lawrence Gap, Barbadosby ChasSourekComment: Mmm, this is a fairly familiar sight. I took a trip to Barbados this year, although I didn't enjoy it too much..
This picture captures a fair bit of what you're in for if you go to a Barbadian beach. White sand, pretty water, breaking waves (Boogie [sp?] boarder's dream.), and even still, you don't fail to capture some human activity, and plant-life.
Was this an impulse photo? Or did you try many times? It looks a bit on the impulse-photo side, but I like that, it seems to capture Barbados in an unstaged view. (The good part of it anyway.) |

Spike a Drink by TranquilComment: Very tacktical photographing here. The green was an excellent choice of colour for this. I don't think any other colour would have done quite as well. Kudos for that title too. I'm most fascinated by the way the water (Assuming that is your liquid of choice..) splashed up in the back, in a quasi-serpentine way. Congrats on 1st place. |
