by ShutterPugComment: Just reading for the first time, Two in the Far North by Margaret Murie. Gives me an appreciation of where you live. Big Lake seems to be pretty far north. Nice photo, by the way. Hope the surgery works to relieve your pain and enable your mobility. Message edited by author 2009-10-04 18:05:50. |

Starmanby kevip6Comment: I think snooting out the spill light thereby keeping the foliage at the roadside in near darkness might have worked better... |

Autumnby BrinComment: Intersection of the figure and the horizon line is unfortunate. Better had the figure been in the water part with no intersecting line. |

Never Forget by Dano6Comment: Must be early morning since the Bridge lights are out. Not good weather this year for the memorial lights. |

Drownby RKTComment: It's amazing that your 350XT is still shuttering away. I shot so much on mine that the shutter mechanism blew. But the fix with Canon cost only $200 to get a new shutter unit installed. Bear that in mind should something happen. In the meantime, I am enjoying this photo. It's a darned nuisance that pBase is down, isn't it. I have a lot of files there and the outlook is rather bleak. |

Just about back...by spiritualspatulaComment: I enjoyed the visual story. Nice hike, lovely location, great adventure. Bring some more adventure to your portfolio. I should add that I was listening to an author (and expert) of a book on trees speaking the other day. He was telling about aspens. Apparently, aspens have a very extensive root system underground that covers in some cases many acres. The root system sends up more than one tree trunk - in some cases many trunks or living trees. One such system that researchers found in Colorado had a root system that they estimated to be 80,000 years old. It had sent up a small forest of aspen trees.... Skyline, 2005by pawdrixComment: Useful for small size repro but I bet it is full of noise in the corners. You should in reality shoot this image again with your updated camera/lens. Not only will it be cleaner as regards noise/artifacts but it will also be a more useful size. |
