Great colors! The thumbnail just jumped out at me when looking through this month's landscapes. I love the distortion of these lenses, and like the wide crop you've chosen. Everything seems to lead your eye right to the red life preserver.

Beautiful, Anni! There is great detail, and I like the crop a lot. So many of these are over saturated, but this one is perfect IMO.

I am with rlewis on the composition with regards to the land - it does not seem to really provide enough 'dramatic feel' - even though the light and b/w processing are very dramatic. A different angle at this shot - lower so we could be looking up at the mountains - or placing the mountains higher in the frame (less sky - even though it is one heck of a sky!) might help make this a bit more dramatic.

Thanks for taking the time to critique my photo! I see the point being made by you and rlewis about the mountain not inspiring, or not being dramatic. I think the problem is that from my vantage point, the peak was probably only a couple hundred feet higher than I was. A better angle would have been down in the river valley, but would have been another two hour hike down and out to get the shot, and it was already near sunset when this was taken.

A cotton field, maybe? I really like this shot. The colors are great, and I love the clouds. The exposure is good, and am surprised you can make out so much detail in the trees.

Nice panning shot! I hear they found his stolen time trial bike, but haven't heard if it was intact, stripped, or what. I'll be in Escondido on Sunday, and hope to get some good action photos. It looks like Lance still has a big motor!

Honestly, I like everything about this photo. The colors, the sheen to the water, the range light to dark in the sky, and I think the crop is perfect...makes it look like a panoramic shot. Beautiful!

This is my favorite of the three you've posted. The range in light to dark is very good, from the white foam of the water/waves, to the dark dramatic sky...very beautiful scene well captured!

I like the yellow/gold glow in your photo. I also like how crisp it is in the foreground, and then fades into a mist or fog. Pretty!
