This is a good portrait. I like the colours (very natural). For me, however, there is little information about the subject's environment. I feel for this type of photo in this challenge, the environment should explain who the person is, rather than the title telling. But still, a very good portrait (to me)!

This to me is the perfect entry for this challenge - the subject is doing what his environment is explaining and is engaging the photographer. The photo also tells a good story, but also defines the subject well.

At first I didn't like this too much - the "negative space" on the right is very heavy. But I've looked at it more and the composition is very clever. It is heavy on the right and feels overwhelming, but it does give that sense of being there. One thing I may have liked more is for the person to be a bit closer. He almost feels like part of the background.

I'm guessing this is Mark Wiley? This looks like the same place as The sun low and weak :)
