I'm not sure the bit of gray sky is adding to the photo. As I write this comment, I'm scrolled down so that only the building is visible, and I definitely like it more that way. I think the shapes are interesting, and you used the long skinny shape of the image well. But I find myself wanting more contrast - blacker blacks and whiter whites.

Interesting set of objects to explore. You used the long skinny shape well, although I'm caught between admiring it as an abstract and wanting to know what the shiny thing is at the bottom (I'm guessing it's a car).

You used the long shape well, but the scene isn't too interesting to me. Maybe it'd grab me more with higher contrast, or a brighter foreground, or something to look at in the foreground? I'm sorry I can't give you more specifics.

I feel caught between two different ways I'd prefer this: a wider view showing me something about the paper and a tighter macro, probably with a different angle on the lighting to bring out the interesting shapes and depth of the ridges and bumps.

Interesting, artsy image, and it connects well with the title. It's just not grabbing my attention. Still, I'm giving it a 6 for visual interest a clear artistic vision.

Good macro! The lack of visual separation between the spider and the flower leaves me a little less wowed, though. I can imagine you sitting there trying to figure out how to crop it, since the spider's face is clearly the central focal point, but the spider's legs are asymmetrical: put the spider's face in the middle and lose some of the legs on the left or keep the whole spider in there and lose the symmetry? I'm not sure there's a perfect answer, but I'll tell you this: I repeatedly found myself zooming my screen in so I could explore its face. You seem to have captured lots of good detail there, but the choice to show its whole body, combined with the small size required by the challenge, meant I couldn't see it well.

Nice use of the space, and there's plenty to explore visually. However, the low contrast leaves me wanting more pop, which would also really bring out the shapes and patterns.

still life. Given the long shape, I'd like it better if I could dive into the texture of fewer lemons. I'm wondering what a really tight crops on 3 or 4 would look like. Also, careful about the exposure: ordinarily, a few hot spots wouldn't bother me, but since I'm craving texture here, those blown-out areas diminish my interest.

Why did the gator cross the road?

Nice shot of the gator, but I feel it doesn't really take advantage of the long, thin shape this challenge encouraged. Does it work to crop it tighter, with less visible above the gator? Doing that would also enlarge the gator, giving me more of the interesting shapes of its body, legs, and skin to explore. It's also pretty low contrast, leaving me without that "wow" feeling.

A good use of the photo's shape to draw my eye through the various parts. However, without a strong subject, I'm left without something to focus on, and wondering what the thing is at the bottom.

Also, why the black bars on top and bottom? I don't think they're needed.
