Irreconcilable Differencesby talmyComment: Not the craftiest photo around, technicaly speaking, but it sure doesn't need oversaturated colors, special effects, spectacular views or other shiny tricks to get the job done. This image tells a story, and has some very strong elements in it: the dead leaves, the birds. Very nice! 8 |

Wait Until Darkby GeneralEComment: At the first glance I thought: Oops, underexposed, but the title cleared that up ;) Nice shot with a nice, and i presume intended, low key. Welldone! |

Cascadeby XMountaineerComment: I like the composition. A lower shutter speed (1 sec or even slower) would have given even more impact, i.m.o. It makes the water 'silky smooth' and creates atmosphere. |

Are you my Lunch?by danielcheong1974Comment: Ouch! Way too much sharpening and contrast for my taste. If the pic was too soft and there was no other option then sharpening it this much, try converting to B&W. Then the higher edge contrast is less a problem. Otherwise: If you used unsharp mask, or something like that, you could try experimenting with lower values for radius. This makes the sharpening more subtle. |

Country Nightsby colorcarnivalComment: Mmmmm... the lighting and tonality are good, but I get a bit of an uncomfy feeling when I look at this pic. First there are the two subjects (tractors and the boy) which are not connected to each other. The tractors also don't add value to the pic i.m.o. Also the boy looks out of the frame, which makes me wonder where he is looking at (maybe some more tractors?). 6 |
