Thanks to all who gave comments!

This was my very first entry and am proud that I received a 4.34! Wasn't sure what to expect!

When I submitted this photo I did not have Photoshop and the program I used did not give me options to enable me to make the photo larger for submission. I recently purchased Photoshop and will be using it for submitting photos from now on... what a great program!

Thank you again! I'm learning a lot with every entry that I make!!

Greetings from the critique club!

As mentioned in a few previous comments, make sure you submit the largest size allowed. The bigger the picture the more we can appreciate the subtle details of your entry.

The colors are fairly good but could use a bit more saturation. As you mention in your own comment, there is a pretty good sharpness and contrasts are nice.

Interesting challenge idea. However the water limits the convergine lines feeling as we can't see far enough through the irrigation system. The water definitely adds interest however so I'm not sure how to approach this. Perhaps with larger submission we could see more detail and get that feeling more.

Overall a pretty good first entry. Welcome to DPC!

the lighting and shadows detract from the focus a little.

Columbine is lovely, but would have been the focal point even without the desat (which appears to still have a purple tint to it).

Nice shot of a columbine but the back ground has a color cast to it.

Sorry, but I just don't care for this shot. I know that's not terribly constructive, but it's my reaction.

There seems to be some sort of purplish cast over the whole shot. It is competing with your petals, and kills the shot.
