This must be in Frisco.

I agree with this comment.

This also evokes in my mind scenes from a Charlie Brown cartoon.

Wow, great compostion! (And I'm not just saying that because I like to chase down fires, either!)

I'm an incurable firetruck & smoke chaser, myself, having grown up in and lived in dry California for forty years. Now, as a Midwest transplant, a column of smoke usually is no more than someone burning brush or trash....too common! But it never hurts to check anyway....I've gotten some great firefight shots that way, including one that won Best of Show in last year's county fair!(_

Nice shot.

Hi....i'm not quite sure what you did, but if i sat here a bit longer & really gave it a little thought-- anyway, you have some "bleedover" from the sky onto your subject, presumably in the places you cloned out distractions (such as the powerlines), and maybe from your application of the sky filter.

I read what someone else said about the exposure on the subject. i agree, you might have done a *leeetle* touch of selective exposure adjustment, but overall, it'sa good capture, a good candid.

As an amateur myself, and still trying to convince the paper that they ought to hire me rather than hope they can get any more"freebies" outta me (now I just show 'em what I got, tell them the story, and if they don't care to pay me for it, as a freelancer, i politely thank them and go away. Hopefully one of these days, they'll see another they just can't live without!) (-: Maybe I'll get assignments someday if i keep rooting out stories on my own!

My camera goes everywhere with me; you just never know what's around the next bend, literally! Good job, keep up the good work, and congrats on the assignment!
