For the notes. Where he says "and for that time, we were both working". It just breaks my heart everytime I read that.

For his ability to get this from the camera he used. Not an easy trick.

For the emotion I can feel in the picture. It got panned because...because?

I like how flat it seems, like a primitive painting.

I have quite a few that have struck my fancy - and thanks to this thread, have added a few more.

Here are a few of my "only" faves - most I like due to the great color, clarity. And I'm a sucker for fall shots!

The closest I have is:

...with 2. But I don't use the favorites as much as I should.

On the other hand, several of the above now have at least two... :)

Thanks ScabLab - you're special!

And my solitary selections:

... among many, many more...

Good thread - some great shots have gone unnoticed it seems.

This shot really speaks to me as a work of art. It communicates a painful feeling so well, and I love the unusual composition that is balanced in such an interesting way.

I loved this so much I bought a print. The white hot spot bothers me a little, but I love the saturated blues and the simplicity of it.

The thumbnail doesn't do this justice at all. This shot is so crisp and clear, and the triangular composition made by the men, echoed by their sunglasses really makes this stand out. Nice tonal range, too.

I bought a print of this one, too. It prints beautifully, in case any of you are wondering. I have it hanging in my photography office.

Creative, humorous and colorful. Just a fun image!

I love this for its abstractness, beautiful composition, crisp texture and rich greens juxtaposed with the gray color. Just a beautiful piece of art.

Another cute, creative flower image. Being a stock photographer, this kind of thing inspires me. And I love those mod 60's colors!

The soft color palette and creative composition get me on this one. Focus is really crisp, too.

A masterful example of amazing light, captured by a great photographer!

What's with y'all? How in the heck has nobody else picked this amazing shot as a favorite??????? :)

A couple of my lonely favorites.
FranziskaLang's (A common subject is hard to do this well)

I just like this one a lot!

This one just smells like Christmas.... Go ahead, give it a smell!
It just looks like a classic and has a rich warm feel to it.

We all live in such a steril commercial world of perfect. This one from Frisca makes me think about how much we needlessly toss away because it's not perfect. I love this shot and miss seeing her work on DPChallenge.

This is the car of my dreams. (At least when I have my camera in hand). This is another artist who's work I miss seeing on DPChallenge.

The photograph has a graphical presence without appearing 'flat'.
It celebrates, I believe, an orwellian vision which remains purely aesthetic. The gritty, erosive treatment of texture and colour evokes industrial shots, while the tight framing and a simple composition are all about form. The inclusive manner of this photo, considering the diversity of the ingredients, is not something we see often. The result is quite a surreal wonder.
