Jean Garrett's work is simply amazing. What an eye for composition.
There are some great photographers here. |

Photo-journalism and a 'social' statement. Although I like the given title, the image quickly prompted me to think of a more 'biting' one, when I considered the conspicuous absence of the artist in it.

I haven't had a chance to add nearly as many favorites as I'd like to, but I did start browsing the challenge archives recently (in reverse chronological order) and have made it to mid-September. Here are a few that only have me listing them as favorites.

THIS, imo, looks like a "Robert Bateman' Painting. Wonderful to look at!!!
I would surely "hang this on my wall".

I honestly thought this was the "communication" winner
I like the focus and peaceful country feeling of this one.

The bold composition, so immaculately balanced. The photographer, apparently, was so immersed in it that he forgot to include much of a subject. :-D

Placement of a 'common' subject into an interesting perspective, composition and texture.

A nearly manrayesque ('cept for the fine gradation of tones) and artful study. A very tasteful and light sensuality.

Laurie I think you forgot one. I hope it's still a favorite, and that you haven't changed your mind about it. :) You have so many there you probably just missed it. Not many people make my photos their favorite so I didn't want to let this go. Sorry. Thank you for making it a favorite though, that made me happy. I'm thinking about putting it on DPCPrints. What do you think?

Again I am flabbergasted at the large amount of talent in this site. You see, not all has to have a ribbon to be good. Congrats to all. |

Well, this might be the last time I can post these, because I noticed a lot of the shots earlier in this thread already have multiple faves. ;-)
Here are a couple of my faves:
Time in Memorial Imagineer
Three Pixel Colors wkoffel
sapphire riot (I wonder where this guy went... I'd like to see more from him)

I have 6 of my photos that only one person has as a fav. As for me this is what I found in my favorites.
Why? They are just different and stood out to me, all great photos.

Yeah this is a great thread. When looking through my fav's and seeing that NO ONE else picked some of them... i am very surprised.. i think WHAT??? that one is GREAT...... hmm... I guess i am a minority.. anyhow, here are the ones i picked.
- this is just a great abstract image. imo
- well ok.. there is 4 people who picked this... I really like the framing, the stopped motion, and lighting.. it looks quite candid for being so posed.
- i can't believe i am the only one that picked this one.. it is humorous, and nicely framed...

Yes, I have been wondering of this for while too... because I have just 3 ribboned as favorites.
But seems there is many with such... and it just make me think that everybody have different looks on the world outside.
