Well this is an odd one.
Challenge Details: Your challenge this week is to take a photograph which contains exactly seven of the main subject. Good luck!
Does this mean find a subject and take exactly 7 of them? Example 7 candles, 7 cars, 7 cans, etc?
Not trying to start anything just want to know how others interpret.

Yes.. I don't think your subject has to be an object though..
as long as you can figure out a way to have 7 examples of a non-object in a shot :)

thats what i think it means when i read it the frist thing that x my mind was "so i have to get 7 of the exact same thing in 1 frame".
what ever your subject is repeated 7 times over. so a shot with 7 subjects all of them the same.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say they have to be the "exact" same.. it says "exactly 7 of your main subject." not "7 of your main subject exactly the same" hehe.
Example, if you have playing cards in your shot.. you need 7 of them. But they can be different colored playing cards, or different sizes, or different viewpoints on each card.. just as long as there are 7 playing cards.
Another Example, if you have a street as your main subject, you just have to have 7 streets, somewhere in the photo.
The subject doesn't have to be the *only* subject either. Just the main one. Further example. If your main subject is a seagull surrounded by beach and rocks and water.. and there were 6 seagulls flying in the near distance behind.. that would be 7 seagulls.. but you wouldn't need 7 rocks and bodies of water and beaches :)
*EDIT* Remember.. these are only examples! My oinion and viewpoint on this is BY NO MEANS the only one, or even the "right" one.. it is only mine, and worded to try and make sense to someone else that may be confused. There are going to be dozens of different takes on this challenge, and every thread about every challenge that is like this has proved that.
So.. in the end.. just try and do your best, and photograph what you like.

The seven dwarfs of Snow White, the seven deadly sins, the seven fingers of the hand,...
A kaleïdoscopic view might also works. |

Excellent! The Seven Deadly Sins are a great example of what I mean by the subject not having to be an object.
I like it.

One problem with this one ... does the average voter look at a photo long enough to count to 7?
; )
For anybody short of ideas, there's a term used in the UK (oop north at least) to describe somebody who's been badly beaten up - "he's had 7 shades of s*** beat out of him". That would be an interesting one to shoot!

Could someone explain what does "lucky seven" means?
I tryed to search on google, and found some songs and old pinball called this way.
Does "lucky seven" has any specific signification to English speaking people ? |

Lucky seven's is a craps term. In the dice game of craps depending on where your bet is you wanna roll a seven or eleven. It is also use in the casinos for slot machines but I don't recommend taking a camera into a casino.

Yes. It comes from a dice game called "Craps" in which gamblers roll two dice and bet on the outcome. Combinations that total 7, 11 or result in doubles (same number on each die), pay off when bet on. "Snake eyes" (rolling two 1's) ends the gambler's luck and betting and so are considered bad luck.
There are also, I believe, many references to 7 in mystical (magic) circles as well as in Judeo-Christian literature.
Try a Google on "lucky number seven" for other ideas. |

That's it. So do just that, photography something with 7 main subjects, and you're 100% on challenge topic. Forget about the "lucky" part, it's just confusing.

The winner is the person with the score closest to 7. It'll probably work out that way anyhow! |

I don't recommend googling "craps" either, for all you non-english speakers... ;) |
