Do quick-release camera straps exist?

Yup! I bought one from B&H made from Tamron that's just great - very comfortable and while it does "quick release" the buckels are very sturdy so I never worry about it coming undone on it's own.

Hmmm can you link it? I can't find one on B&H. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

I use an Op/Tech Pro Loop Strap and it totally rocks.

And because the quick-release ends are "opposites", you can remove the strap and clip them together and make a short little "carry strap" for when you don't need the strap, or on a tripod so it doesn't get in your way.

Highly recommended, especially to replace the god-awful OEM straps that say "NIKON DIGITAL" or "EOS DIGITAL". How tacky. =]

Cool thanks...I'll check into that. I don't mind the tacky strap appearance but I just ran into the tripod-annoyance so...

i have a tamrac one that i bought from a local photo shop
i've never actually had to use the quick release, and am still trying to figure out why i would use it. but it's sturdy, and never been a chance of the camera falling off or anything like that.

I use this one as well. It's called a Boomerang strap (somewhat like the Op/Tech Loop), and my neck ache is gone since I've started to use it. I can only recommend this strap for those who lug around cameras with heavy lenses.

I got mine on eBay. But you won't be able to use it on the rebel unless you also have Big Ed.
