I took this but had the date set to 2003! Doh! So, anyway... heart broken that I didn't have an entry this week. I got a new fisheye for Christmas and it's perfect for architecture shots. I love how it made something as simple as a mall look so surreal.

Boo hoo. Will double check the date on my camera next time. Not sure how that happened.

I would have liked to recreate this one:

As I had already posted it here on Christmas day, however, I decided it wasn't a good idea to do anything too similar. I tried some variations on the idea, but wasn't too happy with them, so I entered something completely different. I like the photo I entered, but am most unhappy with the score. Now I wish I'd hidden this one and tried to get closer to the original.

That's a helluva collection. Great compositions & perspectives.
Someone is having way too much fun with her new camera!

Here's my alternate.

I didn't submit this one because I want to wait until I'm little more adept with Photoshop. There are several things I want to fix on this photograph that I haven't practiced enough to perform to my liking.

Couldn`t decide which to put in the challenge, not sure any of these would score better that the one I put in.

Decided not to submit, the gray winter sky made this challenge tough.

I would like to know how do you think I would have done in the challenge with this photo. I had such a hard time choosing between this one and the one I submited. My score is currently 5.38.
I think I have to work on how to choose the right photo for a challenge.

Thanks

These are my out-takes apologies for how many, currently scoring 5.2s so if anyhere you like more than that let me know, have a feeling I chose badly.

Geo Griffin - love the shot of the underside of the curved glazed roof.

Always suising how peoples outtakes are better than their submission.

PeterC for example - none of these should get 5.2

This is one of my outtakes.

I'm at 5.3 with my submission right now, and I'm starting to think the above would've done better :I

btw., the photo I have in the challenge is of another building, so not giving anything away

I think the one you posted was better. Is that the church in Reykjavik?

How do you know what I posted? It wasn't of the same building, although there is a very nice blue tinted one of it in the challenge.

And yeah, it's a church in Reykjavik named Hallgrimskirkja.

I meant the one in the challenge, with another church in the foreground and this one much farther back. Very nicely composed. I lived in Iceland in the mid-70's, when that church had been partially built, but stopped because the money was diverted to volcano relief.

outtakes... or maybe the remnants of a wrong choice, I'm sitting on 5.3.
