~LOL~
That's a good one.
Well, I just ran through the internet trying to find a decent picture of the real place, and I admit I can't. So maybe it's not a fair photo after all...
It never occured to me that there will be no images of the entire place on the internet :-(
So I guess you can quite your searches... It is the fort of Messada, Israel.
Next time I promise to google the image before I upload it!!

No problem. But indeed, it was unfindable, but that is also due to the fact how it look today. If I had come across the below link I could have linked 1 and 1 together but it is a ruin now:
//www.geocities.com/aricohen_2000/messada.htm
Gives an idea of scale though. Thanks for posting it anyway. Fun search and a nice view back in time. :)

That was unfair, Jinjit. The search should have been, "Where WAS this?"

I was enjoying this thread and felt like giving it a bump to revive interest. Alas I have no photos to post on this one ..... I may have to fix that this weekend if it stops raining...

I'll add one more, we can do two at once.
This is something a bit different.
Here are two more photos taken later in the year.

Even on its coldest day Mauna Loa never looks like that. |
