Hi guys, I just got my first digital camera Canon EOS 300D.

One question: WHEN I CHANGE THE TV(SHUTTER)MY APERTURE CHANGES BY ITSELF,AND IT WORKS THE OTHER WAY AROUND, MEANING SHUTTER CHANGES WHEN I CHANGE THE APETURE. So what is going on? Cant I control Shutter and Aperture myself - I dont like my camera set them for me.

Or maybe this is how the Rebel 300D works?

Thanks for advice.

Use Manual mode, rotating would change the shutter, and holding down A/v would change aperture.

Reading the manual is also good :)

You can switch it in to manual mode, then you have to set them both. Otherwise, Av and Tv mode mean you pick aperture (or shutter) and the camera works out the other, based on the meter mode and exposure compensation you select.

Guys, so there is no way I can control both, shutter and aperture separately? If I choose one, the other one will be chosen atomatically?
Or is it possible to set up aperture first, than switch to shutter and set it up.

I've got a problem too. I have everything set up, and I want to take a photo, but it's not working. I keep saying "shoot" but it just isn't happening. is it broken? Is there a button that I need to press or somthing?

You didn't say the magic word. Didn't your mother ever teach you to say "please?" That, and you have to say "open sesame."
