I know just what I am going to shoot for this one, which is pretty rare for me.

Finally I can do something creative:

Going to submit a white square and title it...."Polar Bear in a smowstorm"

Would be acceptable if you actually were close to snow... I think that people in the snowy areas have advantage - or at least one choice of a background more than people in the southern hemisphere (or those in Texas)

The best thing I have is this...

I predict a lot of white egg shots on white. toti's example and the previous examples on DPC are really beautiful, but it you want to stand-out I don't recommend doing it!

I always look through past challenges, to have ideas. But I will never repeat it! That's the reason I didn't shoot an egg on the separation challenge LoL!

Creativity! Tha's the key!!!

Here's one I took last month that seems appropriate. I think I'm in luck since it just snowed again today. I have somethine else planned, but I may get another nice snow shot that's better.

I think those would have made it in the challenge. I took them a month ago.

Some good shots here...

I guarantee that a lot of us are going to take hits on this challenge with all the uncalibrated monitors out there.

I've got a way cool one for this challenge but I'm betting it will get hammered by those with brightness set to high...

oh well...

I could be wrong, but my gut feeling is this challenge will not score well any image that does not have a "pure white" BG. Color shifts will doom you, and pictures like 1 and 3 of the birds are definitely too dark on the Bg to score well. Further, I'd expect the second shot of the birds to suffer because there's too much dark branch in the picture.

I'd be really surprised if by far the majority of the top 30 were not studio shots...

Yeah, me too. I'm afraid that for people in my situation (poor but enthusiastic), meeting this challenge well is going to be difficult. I simply don't have the resources to put together a studio setup; all I can do is jury-rig something with a gooseneck lamp and mounting board, which tends to look exactly like something jury-rigged with a lamp and mounting board. I've done three separate "studio" shoots already for this challenge, and they are getting better, but the amateur setup is showing.

Damon

edit: just for kicks, here's a photo I WON'T be entering for this challenge!
