Jean-Jacques, your self-protrait was truely insperational. I have taught art/photography for 30+ years and seldom have I been so thoroughly impressed as I was with the way you captured your self-image. It inspired me to use some talents I shelved years ago when I became involved with photography. I hope my drawing, (07 mechanical pencil)does justice to your work. An admirer...John Gill

I think it's an impressive drawing - but I don't know if it's the most effective to go with the ad under it:

Simply stunning!!! I am always amazed by how gifted some of the dpc artists truly are! bethany_marie's sketch of my picture "Summer at the Farm" turned out beautifully as well. You folks who can draw are SO talented. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler. Literally. Fabulous work!!! :o)

Fantastic, you can draw one of my pictures if you want, I know you want to. You seem like you'd be a fabulous teacher.

He is a fabulous teacher! One of the best!
I took my first photo class freshman year of highschool with him... and haven't stopped shooting since :-).
From Nikon F3s with bad light meters, to my fully manual pentax that I really learned on, and all of the black and white in highschool, to a Nikon N70 and color film and negatives, to my dearest D1H and what I do today, Mr. Gill has definitely been an influence in my life, and yes he has drawn a few of my photos! :-D.

What I like about it is that it is not just a drawing copy of a photo original. The artist has reinterpreted it slightly to reveal new things.
