I was just wondering if anyone had any sample images taken with this lense. After looking at Canon L glass, I couldn't believe how cheap and (relatively) well reviewed this lense is. I would definitely rather go for the canon 70-200 f4, but seriously, I can practically TOY with this tamron for only $150.
I haven't been able to find many sample images taken with the lense though, so I'd really appreciate it if someone that has the lense could post a few. Thanks!

I have the 28-300mm Aspherical XR Di LD (IF) Don't know if the 70-300 is the same on the long end but my 28-300 is a roll of the dice between 200-300, no rhyme or reason with that thing. Some shots are good and others lack detail. I went as far as shooting the same exact shot twice same exact settings and they would differ considerably.

Two months after getting my Tamron I did end up getting the 70-200 4L, there's no comparison at any focal length or AF Speed.

wow, those are all with the Tamron...including the ones on the linked website? I wasn't expecting them to be THAT nice. How much of the time do you have that lense on your camera?

Nice shots Elsapo seen em yesterday and meant to ask just how much post processing was done on the parrot and what was the focal length of that one, somewhere around 180mm?

The parrot was taken at 250mm...and not much post processing at all!

Eugene - although not the exact same lens I have the Tamron 28-300 and the Tamron 200-500. You can look here to see some of the shots:

My Bird Shots

BUT - be warned that the pics you look at here are small and processed. It will be very hard to get the same results as you would with good glass when trying to blow them up to any size. Like awpollard says "there's no comparison at any focal length or AF Speed". But as long as you know the limitations and you want a budget lens I can vouch for mine.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Elsapo and jbsmithana, you both did a great job of demonstrating the capabilities of tamron as a 3rd party consumer lens.
I guess now it's up to me to decide for myself :-p
