OK, I might be able to make it on the 17th. Are there definite plans yet?

I'll add your name to the list for the 17th.
Hopefully will make a definite meeting place and time by tonight. As it stands now Sunday April 7th at So. Street Seaport 11AM. I don't know how to make a website link, but you can go to www.southstreetseaport.com (i think) for directions. Then I'll try to PM everyone on the list for those who don't catch the forums.
last chance for input, with 10 days to go we need to make this definate!
as for April 30th...we'll make that definate in the next couple days, but looks like Botanic Gardens at 10 or 11 AM!
Its gonna be great so everybody join us!

Anyone wanna maybe meet earlier to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge? :) :)

Since this thread is mainly on the SouthSt. Seaport GTG, would anyone like me to start an April 30th thread so that we can just go to there as for information?

Hi everybody -
I'm a little bummed out right now because I have to go from 100% sure of getting together to about 50%.
I'm pretty sure the 30th is a no go. I get back from vacation on the 29th at around 11pm! I thought I had an extra day between returning and the gtg. But alas, alack!, I do not.
The 17th...I've got two HUGE tests before Spring Break, so I probably won't be able to spend an entire day with y'all. I'll show up, but I don't know how long I'll be able to stay.

One question
"By the Tall Ships" covers a good deal of space. Does anyone have a particular spot/landmark that's easy to find and should we all wear pink carnations for ID? Or should I just look for a crowd of 20 plus people, ALL with Canon 300D's. heheheheheheheh.
Looking forward to it.
Cheers!

Okay- Manic is off to NY. The DC contingent has set a pretty high standard. NY- think you can beat us? :)
And make sure not to lose the Brit! He's devilishly difficult to replace.

NYers are notorious for beating everyone at everything, however that needs to be accomplished (lol) and if we can't we have a knack of making you believe we did. that being said, you're on pal! We will have the best GTG ever, starting with great weather great people and a brit for the fun of it!
Seriously, I've PM'd everyone on the list, if you didn't get one let me know. I'm going to try to make some sort of dpc name tag ( it won't be as good as scalverts for the bonx gtg) so pawdrix can find us, although photo geeks are hard to miss even amongst normal people with cameras.
Any other questions? |

Not to mention someone would kick some serious butt should the Brit be lost.

It was taken in jest as I'm sure you didn't want to start another revolution, maybe we'll see some monuments as to what happened in the first one! lol (of course!) Can't wait to meet this well protected prize of a brit! |

Just in case I can't find you people, I'll be wearing a white football helmut, day-glo pink clogs and a tie-dyed Muu Muu.
So keep an eye out for me...ok?

Manic-If you like jazz the best joint to go to is The 55 Bar on Christopher St.
Tonight, Wayne Krantz a former Steely Dan guitarist is with Anthony Jackson on bass (he ruled the late 70's and 80's in jazz/funk...everything). The place is the real deal...not touristy at all. It's where musicians hang out to see their friends play and test new material. Cutting edge to say the least. And the best part...it's cheap.
I might be going down there tonight as I have the next four days off. Could be dangerous.

The 55 Bar is hands down fabulousity! If you can get there for a night of Sweet Georgia Brown...DO IT. DON'T THINK TWICE. She blew my mind. And she's a regular. :)
