hi everyone. I just joined and this is my first post. I'm an amateur photographer who now shoots with a FujiFilm FinePix A330 which has 3.2 megapixels. I recently started a photoblog so I can share my work and get some feedback. Feel free to drop by and browse :)

Here is one of the photos I posted on my blog...a portrait of one of my sons which I took 3 years ago. At that time, I used a Canon Powershot S300. I welcome any comments and criticisms. Personally, I really like this. I cropped it just slightly and enhanced brightness and contrast. I kind of like the blur of his left hand.

Thanks so much for looking!

This image has a captures a really nice, happy mood. The composition is definately good, and the black and white treatment works well. I'd like to see the focus a little crisper on your son's face, but other than that... good job.

Hope to see more of your stuff in future challenges. Good luck!

I just thought I would share some of my favorite B&W portraits. I like the tonal range in a good B&W portrait, it seems to bring out the subjects character better than color. DonĂ¢€™t get me wrong I like color portraits as well, just like B&W more.

What do all of you think? I like to see some of your favorite B&Ws.

Thanks sam!
I appreciate the feedback. After reading your comment about his face and taking a second look, I agree with you.

I feel the same way you do, sofap, about B&W portraits. Color can be nice, but there's just something more appealing about B&W, like tonal range, as you said. I like the middle one in the top row the best. :)

Peace...

That was shot for a CD cover as was the 6th and 8th one. I try to talk ny clients into using B&W more but they all want color and BLING.
