| I noticed a very nice picture on the "fear" challenge : a rollercoaster loop with the face of a scared old man transparently blended on it. This picture seems to be no more on the challenge, has it been disqualified ? Can you explain me why ? This picture, in the "Transparency" challenge uses the same technique : Through My Eyes... So... Is it because the "rollercoaster" (can't remember the exact name) is a blend of two totally different pictures ? I can't be more specific without revealing it, but my submission for this week will probably deal with this kind of "editing", how can I know if my picture violates the rules or not ? |

Well I''m sorry, I didn''t read the author''s comment on "Through My Eyes"... But I don''t have a camera allowing to tune the shot duration, I just can do the same by taking two pictures with a tripod, and then merging them... Well, I think I''ve found the difference between the "rollercoaster" and this one... Sad.

Merging two photographs in Photoshop is not permissable. The rollercoaster shot did this, "Through My Eyes" didn't.

| Okay, thank you for your explanation Drew. And Sohr, it's sad because I had a nice idea and a nice picture... But I used the merging :( And I can't do the same only with camera tricks. Anyway, I gonna place the picture somewhere on the Internet to get some feedback :) Gonna look in my outtakes for this week's submission... |

You can do the Rollercoaster shot and many other effects by using a sheet of plexiglass, glass whatever and catch the reflection against whatever you are shooting.
I am going to an amusement park with this very idea in mind. I have a 18 x 24 piece of plastic used for picture framing and I can shoot a photo with this method of various rides, events, whatever.......
BTW..just remembered.....Gordon used a similar technique in the advertisement challenge...Absolut Inebriation
