Seeing as we don't have a dedicated forum for buying/selling equipment (yet), I posted an ad in the one thread that is closest to it:

No upgrade just yet.
Kids need some help right now and this easiest way to do it. (very long story)

Upgrade will be somewhere down the road (hopefully not too far though)

Thanks. I always have my Sony Mavica FD-88 1.3MP floppy drive camera.
Might be an interesting thing to see how I could do with it - ROFL

Is there anything we can do to help????

05/28/2005 06:04:08 PM · #10
I am so flattered.

Actually everything is fine here.
No hardships here in any way and could go buy a 1Ds Mark II and all L glass if I really wanted to.
(not gonna' do that to my creditcard though - scary to know I could though - LOL)

It's a very long story and all about priorities in life and messages / lessons as to what those priorities are more than anything.

In the mean time, I may just have to whoop some butt with my 1.3MP Sony.

Renews my faith that it can be done!

I'm an E-20 owner, Brad, and I may be interested in some of your stuff.
What ya got and what you want for it?

You are selling all together, not seperating?
I am interested.
Are all in good shape?
And problems with glass?
Shipping cost to Long Island, NY included?

Finally, does any of this equipment have any magic powers to make my photography as good as yours? :)

I'll rub it a few times for luck - how's that?
(The camera too...)

I don't know which is the scarier thought: Brad upgrading to a newer camera (eventually), or keeping the old Mavica and kicking our collective hindquarters anyway. [shudder]

Open Challenge too.
Run, while you still have a chance!

Brad - LOL too funny! Where do you get all the smileys from and how do you put them in here?

Oops!
Seems the Mavica does not have EXIF embedded data, and only has the IPTC file system which is used to basically write data to the file.

No challenges for the old Sony it seems unless I can have a Notary follow me around - LOL
DRAT!

(wonder if it would be worth a DQ just to try...)

IPTC data has been ruled as acceptable for proof requests. If you have a camera that does not support the EXIF standard, but records the date using the older IPTC standard, this is acceptable for submission.

I checked. All fields are blank and are user inputs only.

LOL

And to think, this was a $999 MSRP camera when it was released in 1999.

At least I can do MPEGs with it - off to start my porno business instead.

Come on all....now's our chance to finally win some ribbons... ;)

Well, BradP, hope to see you back in the game soon. I have an idea....see if it has the date time stamp on the actual photo (I know some early models did). Use that perhaps with a created/modified identical date on file.

???
