Come Monday, I will get to see my seven year old daughter for the first time in four years. I am so excited and so is she. I just got off the phone with her and I could hear the way her voice changed in the background when my x told her who it was. (She said daddy!!) before she got to the phone. I told her Monday is when we will be there, she said really, I can't wait. She just got out of shcool last week. So we will do as much as we can in 5 days. I have been waiting and working long hard hours for the time with her. She is my only child and makes it diffcult when your at a distance. I will be at the view finder plenty to camera and video.

Over the past year here at DPC has gave me a different look at things
I would like to thank this place for keeping me occupied. Thanks everyone, I could on and on, but I won't.

Don't try to cover up the past, just open it....Mark Thomas Kelsay

That's great!!! Just remember to put the camera down every so often and play with her. But at the same time take lots of pictures. Maybe bring someone along to record the time for you?

Magic words that hit your chest like a bowling ball I bet.
A youngster running up saying Daddy! with arms out is even more powerful.

Precious moments soon await you - cherish them.

I know this much I know the feeling of distance to family, Every minute when you finally see them you will be wrapped in the moment...
If it wasnt for dpchallenge or the net keeping me connected, communicating, and my mind on something, I dont know how my emotions and feelings would have ended up when my parents separated after 30 year... I am an only child and have never been so long as a week without seeing them up untill 2 years ago.... They both live in different states...Its hard on the intire family in so many ways... Its what you can do now to keep the connection...
Enjoy your time with her, I am sure you will...

The first time in 4 yrs!? Wow! No wonder you're both excited!

My husband left the Navy after 12 years. Many people told him he was crazy and should stay in for 20 to get some retirement benefits. He just said that there's a huge difference between seeing your daughter at 6 (her age when he left the Navy) and seeing her at 14 (if he would have stayed in.) Daddy's are special to all children and girls really need strong support from fathers.

Enjoy your time with your daughter. May the next days fly by and may those 5 days seem to take forever! :)
